About

A bit about me and why I do what I do!

Travel and Volunteering

Taking long trips to visit new cultures and landscapes is an important part of my life. I’ve volunteered my time to planting trees, teaching English in schools, building a bamboo house, painting murals and working on a farm. This has led me to experience life at a different pace with fresh perspectives.

Co-Founder of

Once in a Blue Moon Cafe

I moved to Bristol in 2015, after setting up a festival cafe and venue space called Once in a Blue Moon. My main passion in this project was creating a beautiful and memorable space that people could get lost in, a home away from home. My passion for food and cooking helped us develop recipes. I take inspiration from food I’ve tried whilst travelling, whilst using local and season UK ingredients.

Almost all of the signs, decor and furniture was handpainted by myself, first in my friend's kitchens and later in my studio when I could afford one. This is what led my to explore sign writing as a profession.

Painting for festivals

When I wasn’t running the cafe, I worked my way into festivals offering my sign writing and painting skills, I became involved in Boomtown, where I was exposed to a crazy world of immersive theatre, where whole towns, featuring hotels, casinos, banks and more were held up with wood and scaffolding.. Here is where I first learnt about scenic painting.

Printmaking

I spent my student years working in the basement of LCC, University of Arts London, surrounded by old Victorian printing equipment. Lino-cut, Acid-Etching and Screen-printing took me away from Photoshop and into the world of the hand-made. My tutor always told me I was wasting my time in the print studio, but I went on to organise multiple print exhibitions, live screen print workshops, tutored at a local college and managed a team of talented creatives at one of London’s busiest screen-print studios for 6 years.
